Norway's Norsk Luftambulanse has signed for three Airbus Helicopters H135 rotorcraft to broaden its medical airlift services. The operator's current inventory includes 13 H135s and two H145s.

With bases in Norway and Denmark, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Norsk Luftambulanse Foundation, whose mission is to develop air ambulance services through research and development activities, education and national collaborative projects.

“This order with Airbus Helicopters will ensure that we continue operating aircraft with the latest technologies and the most advanced mission capabilities,” says ceo Syver Leivestad.

The H135 combines a wide, unobstructed cabin with good performance, range and payload capacity for low-noise operations. Large sliding side doors and rear clamshell doors enable fast loading and unloading of patients. The type's previous designation was EC135.
