Al Sharqiya adds HEMS provision to Oman services
Al Sharqiya Aviation adds an H145 to its fleet and is recognised by the CAA of Oman for its role in the success of the ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission.
The H145 will add to Al Sharquiya's HEMS provision across Oman.

Al Sharqiya Aviation has added an H145 to its fleet to meet increasing market demands and to support its diverse range of services to major clients, among them those in the oil and gas sector and telecommunications. However, the primary motivation behind this expansion is to enable provision of helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) on a larger scale across the country. This helicopter, its third alongside another H145 D3 and an H125, is based at the company’s base in Madinat Al Irfan.

Accountable manager Tamer Al Gendy says: “We are proud to introduce the latest addition to our fleet. We provide a comprehensive range of helicopter services including HEMS, versatile load lifting across construction, telecom and agriculture sectors and more. Capturing the essence of Oman’s breathtaking landscapes, our aerial photography services showcase the nation’s beauty from a unique perspective. Our dedicated team works tirelessly around the clock to achieve our goals; our vision extends beyond establishing a solid presence in Oman, we strive to be a regional leader, setting new standards in helicopter services.”

This new helicopter is suitable for a wide range of trips, given its high speed and the ability to navigate diverse terrain. Another benefit is the advanced technology and design, which make it ideal for high and hot operating conditions and for providing effective response to any medical emergency.

“The key feature of the helicopter is its spacious and flexible cabin,” adds Al Gendy. “It is specifically designed to accommodate medical equipment while prioritising patient care and safety. And so far, its performance is excellent.” The increase to useful load of 150kg is particularly welcome, giving the best ratio to MTOW.

“These helicopters are ideal for flying over longer distances, particularly in remote areas where driving by car may be challenging,” he continues. “Additionally, they are ideal for reaching locations far from central hospitals. The helicopter will be involved in operations that demand round-the-clock availability.”

At a recent ceremony, the Civil Aviation Authority of Oman presented Al Sharqiya Aviation with an award for achieving the highest rate of progress in addressing safety oversight deficiencies identified during the previous ICAO Continuous Monitoring Approach Validation Mission.
