NBAA-BACE Volocopter flights will showcase air mobility
Volocopter flights will highlight the industry's rapid progress toward full-scale introduction of AAM aircraft. They will form part of the company's flight test with the predecessor and prototype to the VoloCity air taxi.

The many applications for game-changing advanced air mobility (AAM) technologies will be on display through a series of flights (weather and environmental conditions permitting) by Volocopter's electric 2X air taxi, planned as part of NBAA-BACE in Las Vegas.

“Advanced air mobility represents one of the most significant breakthroughs in aviation history, with the potential to fundamentally change the way we think about safe, fast, efficient and sustainable on demand air transportation,” says NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. “We are pleased to host Volocopter's revolutionary AAM aircraft and seeing the 2X's electric flights over the course of the three NBAA-BACE show days.”

The two seat, zero-emission AAM vehicle will be the first to meet EASA's comprehensive requirements for vertical take off and landing aircraft certification under the Special Condition VTOL. The flights planned during the show, to be conducted at Henderson Executive airport, are part of the Germany-based company's flight test with the Volocopter 2X, the predecessor and prototype to the VoloCity air taxi, that will begin commercial AAM passenger flights in Paris in the summer of 2024. The NBAA-BACE flights are scheduled to begin on the show's opening day, Tuesday, 17 October, and continue through to the final NBAA-BACE show day, Thursday, 19 October.

Volocopter flights will highlight the industry's rapid progress toward full-scale introduction of AAM aircraft. Since 2021, the NBAA AAM Roundtable has served as a forum for high-level policy planning with sector leaders to chart a course for the integration of the technologies into the nation's airspace and infrastructure.
