Flat rate parts package increases Pratt & Whitney scope
The P&WCSmart clutch Inspection new parts package for PT6T-3 reduction gearboxes is offered to customers flying helicopters powered by PT6T-3BE, PT6T-3BG, PT6T-3D, PT6T-3DE and PT6T-3DF TwinPac engines.
In October 2022, Pratt & Whitney Canada launched its new self-serve digital tool called the Services Hub, to offer even greater powerplant care.

Pratt & Whitney Canada has expanded its P&WCSmart portfolio with a new flat rate parts package comprised of major assembly parts replaced during a scheduled reduction gearbox clutch inspection for several PT6T-3 engine models.

“Our P&WCSmart portfolio provides customers with an efficient and cost-effective means of keeping their engines and aircraft flying longer, part of our ongoing efforts to support customers at every stage of their engine's lifecycle,” says Christopher (Scott) McElvaine, VP of business development. “With a population of over 2,800 PT6T-3 engines, this package provides customers with genuine new P&WC parts at a reduced, guaranteed price to support their scheduled maintenance activities.”

With the solution, customers receive genuine new Pratt & Whitney Canada parts at a reduced price of USD 100,000. Customers who select the new parts package receive a full, OEM-level warranty for the parts. They additionally receive a USD 10,000 credit towards the next P&WCSmart overhaul of the same gearbox.”

In October 2022, Pratt & Whitney Canada launched its new self-serve digital tool called the Services Hub. The Services Hub is a guided online experience that enables customers and maintenance professionals to quickly and easily find the right maintenance products and services based on the customer's aircraft and engine model. It includes the new P&WCSmart solution along with several other offerings for helicopter customers.

Pratt & Whitney Canada is also rolling out new remote maintenance kits comprised of strategically selected parts and tooling for helicopter engines that will support aircraft availability and maintenance autonomy. The kit is offered to customers enrolled in the company's Eagle Service Plan (ESP) pay-per-hour maintenance plan as part of its investment in the programme.

“Similar to a first-aid kit, the remote maintenance kit is kept at the customer's premises or maintenance facility and used on an 'as-needed' basis to ensure operational readiness,” says Christopher (Scott) McElvaine, vice president, business development and commercial services, Pratt & Whitney Canada. “While our ESP programme provides predictable budgeting for engine maintenance and peace of mind, the new remote maintenance kits enhance the value that our customers derive from ESP.”

The remote maintenance kits are available to ESP customers flying the following engine models: PT6C-67C, PW207C, PW206C, PW206B2/B3 and PW207D1/D2. The strategic collection of engine parts and tooling is contained in a compact and light-weight case. It includes specialised cables, an ignition exciter and Stabilant 22, borescope guide tools to perform engine diagnostic tests, spare parts such as fuel and oil filter elements, retaining rings and seals, all designed to return a helicopter to service as quickly and efficiently as possible. With critical parts and tooling on hand, customers avoid parts delivery delays, and shipping and customs issues.
