Albuquerque, New Mexico-headquartered Part 135 operator specialising in complex aviation operations CSI Aviation held an official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new hangar at the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional airport. The event was organised by the City of Killeen together with the airport, with key community stakeholders in attendance.

“The new hangar will enable CSI to increase our medical flight support to hospitals all over Texas and increase our maintenance capability that supports our air ambulance missions throughout the region," says executive vice president Tommy Dunn. "Additionally, we are better positioned to support our operations in Florida."

Speeches were made by Killeen mayor Debbie Nash-King, city manager Kent Cagle, congressman John Carter, state representative Brad Buckley and airport executive director of aviation Mike Wilson. Members of the Killeen Chamber of Commerce were also in attendance.

CSI Aviation CEO and retired marine colonel Allen Weh also spoke on behalf of the company and its increasing presence in Texas. The company is now providing air ambulance, cargo and air charter services across the state. CSI’s new hangar has 22,000 sq ft of space and will be a centralised maintenance facility as well as an air ambulance, air charter and cargo base.

Weh and COO William ‘Rock’ Collins accepted a certificate of appreciation from the Killeen Chamber of Commerce before the ribbon was cut.
