Albinati celebrates 20 years of chocolate-fuelled flights
Passengers on Albinati’s Pilatus fleet can sit back and enjoy Swiss chocolates during their flights; they can even pre-order a selection of flavours to try. Chocolate rabbits were particularly popular at Easter.
High flying Albinati clients can enjoy fine chocolates from Tristan Chocolatier Switzerland.

Albinati Aeronautics CEO and owner Stefano Albinati and Swiss chocolatier Tristan Carbonatto met 20 years ago when Albinati stepped into Carbonatto’s shop to try out some chocolates. He thought they were so good he decided to offer them to passengers on Albinati flights; clients can place their own orders in advance for delivery to the aircraft pre-flight. Over the years a close friendship and business relationship has developed between the two men.

Albinati says it is the only French-speaking Swiss airline approved to operate the PC-24 commercially. It has two Pilatus PC-24 and two PC-12 aircraft on its fleet, popular with clients flying between Gstaad and Saanenland.

Carbonatto is an artisanal chocolatier, whose shop tempts chocophiles from all over the world to the hills above Lake Geneva. He journeys in Switzerland and around the world in search of new ingredients to use; local wines, matcha tea from Japan, and kampot pepper or ginger from Australia.

“Our businesses share many similarities,” says Albinati. “In Tristan’s case, his creations originate from a great curiosity for new ingredients and a deep love for chocolate, thereby creating a unique experience for customers. His is a family-feel business firmly rooted in the local community, and that creates a strong bond between the shop and its customers.
“I have always had a strong passion for flying and I wanted to create the most unique experience for our customers. Providing a tailor-made product shows the customer we truly care about their needs. We have thought about every little detail, and now an unforgettable flying experience starts with the taste of the best chocolate in the world.”
