Alto Aviation upgrades PA for Phenom passengers
Alto Aviation has added a feature to its public address and passenger entertainment system upgrade for the Phenom. Now pilots can communicate safety announcements to passengers who are not wearing headphones.
Alto Aviation senior technical sales manager and Embraer programme specialist Steve Lord.

US-based Alto Aviation has introduced its 2022 public address (PA) and passenger entertainment audio system, specifically designed and customised for Embraer Phenom 100 and 300 aircraft.

The PA system employs a digital amplifier and 100 per cent compatible speakers for mounting in factory-provided speaker locations on all legacy Phenom 100 and 300 aircraft. This solution allows the pilot to communicate safety messages and announcements to those passengers in the cabin who are not wearing intercom headphones with great acoustic quality; a safety feature that was never offered as part of the original Embraer Phenom factory completion.

The flight crew can make PA announcements from the cockpit by selecting the existing PA button on the audio panel. A PA chime will activate when the microphone is keyed, and the crew can make clear announcements to passengers without requiring them to wear headphones.

This solution also adds entertainment audio to aircraft with an Embraer audio system installed. Passengers can plug in their personal media device, or connect to an optional Alto Bluetooth receiver, and listen to their favourite music through a customised Alto Aviation premium digital sound system. PA announcements override any entertainment audio playing during the PA event.

"I am always very excited to offer our clients solutions exclusively designed with their aircraft in mind," says senior technical sales manager and Embraer programme specialist Steve Lord. "The 2022 PA/entertainment audio upgrade programme allows Phenom operators to invest in safety with a premium airline-quality PA system, and easily add amazing entertainment audio for their passengers to enjoy by upgrading to a powerful Alto audio system."
