Metrojet parks first Global 7500 in hangar
MEC's first Global 7500 has arrived at the company's newly opened Clark International facility. Hangar parking can minimise corrosion to aircraft and preserve the asset value, a critical option for owners in the Asia Pacific.
Metrojet Engineering Clark's new hangar parking and maintenance facility launched with a water salute ceremony in May 2021.

Philippines-based MRO Metrojet Engineering Clark (MEC) has welcomed the first Bombardier Global 7500 to its new facility in Clark International airport, which opened in May this year.

“The travel and quarantine restrictions continue to impact the flying activities in the APAC region to a certain degree. Many aircraft have been idle, waiting for the quarantine curbs to be relaxed. With the business jet maintenance bubble in place, MEC is here to serve and provide these grounded aircraft with a high quality and competitive alternative to Hong Kong and north Asia's limitations with hangar parking space,” says MEC general manager Sarith Vaikuntan.

The new hangar has over 7,100 sqm of floor space, and can accommodate up to 10 long range business jets including BBJs and Airbus Corporate Jets. A 2,500 sqm two storey annex building on the rear of the hangar houses workshops, stores, staff and customer offices and lounges, with space for a dedicated FBO. In front of the hangar there is 11,000 sqm of apron area with an exclusive private taxiway, and the facility has been designed to be typhoon and seismic resistant, meeting current Philippine codes.
