NBAA assembles ideal lineup to discuss regulations
CBP programme manager of general aviation Eric Rodriguez will discuss the latest in customs policies and procedures, while Dr. Nicole Cohen from the CDC will cover pandemic related issues for an NBAA-BACE panel.

Whether your operational questions involve COVID-era considerations or other issues, NBAA is planning its strongest-ever lineup of government officials to take questions at a first-ever virtual NBAA-BACE ‘Meet-the-Regulators’ session.

On hand for the session, which takes place from 11:00 to 12:30 EDT on 30 September, as part of NBAA's extensive roster of hybrid content for the convention, will be key personnel from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

CBP programme manager of general aviation Eric Rodriguez will discuss the latest in customs policies and procedures, while Dr. Nicole Cohen, the CDC's deputy associate director for science, division of global migration and quarantine, will answer attendees' questions regarding masks, vaccine requirements and other pandemic-related issues.

FAA executives Robert Ruiz, the soon-to-be deputy director of flight standards (AFX-2), and Bruce Decline, the director of the Office of Safety Standards (AFS-1), among others, will represent the FAA on the panel.

“This is a unique opportunity for members to ask questions directly of regulators from the CBP, CDC and FAA, who set and carry out rules and policies that impact members' operations and the industry as a whole,” says Brian Koester, CAM, NBAA's director of flight operations and regulations. “The addition of CDC representatives to this year's panel is critical, as the industry continues to respond to the ongoing COVID pandemic and assist in the global recovery from the crisis. We are pleased that as part of this year's show we can make these government leaders available to share their perspectives and take questions, in an interactive, virtual format.”

The Meet-the-Regulators session will set the groundwork for other valuable content focused on regulations impacting business aviation operations, which will be presented during the convention, from 12-14 October. An October 13 ‘International and Regulatory Updates’ session will feature experts from the FAA, along with those from NBAA's International Operations Committee, who will detail regulatory changes that took effect in 2021, and planned changes for the coming year.
