FATA clears the way for GE engines in Russia
Since entry into service, the GE Honda HF120 fleet of engines has accumulated over 126,000 flight hours with excellent reliability. Already consisting of 340 engines, the fleet will now make its way into Russia.
The engine is already approved by the FAA, EASA, CAAC in China, DGAC in Mexico, ANAC in Brazil, DGAC in India, JCAB in Japan and Transport Canada.

GE Honda Aero Engines (GHAE) has completed type certification validation for the HF120 turbofan engine by the Federal Air Transport Agency (FATA) of the Russian Federation.

“The HF120 has proven its rugged design with a flawless entry into service since 2015 with customers attesting to its unparalleled dispatch availability. The HF120 is well suited for operation in Russia and the CIS,” says Melvyn Heard, president of GHAE.

Since entry into service, the GE Honda HF120 fleet of engines has accumulated over 126,000 flight hours with excellent reliability. The fleet, consisting of more than 340 engines, has been operating with industry leading reliability across the world with a global support network. Russian certification validation adds to the HF120 engine's approvals from across the globe, including the FAA in the United States, EASA in Europe, CAAC in China, Mexico's DGAC, Brazil's ANAC, India's DGAC, Japan's JCAB and Transport Canada.

The HF120 fleet is supported around the clock and around the world with an authorised service providers network comprised of select service centres from the industry, including Rheinland Air Service (RAS) for HondaJet Europe in Germany. GHAE's ASPs are equipped to perform line maintenance, engine installation and removal, and support of rental engine logistics for HF120 shop visits. The ASP network is further supported by a 24/7 GE Honda operations centre and a team of dedicated field technical managers and customer team managers.

“We are excited to enter the Russian market and are ready to support our customers along with RAS, our designated ASP since 2014,” comments Shinji Tsukiyama, executive VP of GE Honda Aero Engines. “We continue to align ourselves with the best service centres in the industry to deliver exceptional support for customers flying our product.”

GHAE offers long-term Engine Maintenance Care (EMC) programmes that extend beyond the basic engine warranty, with coverage of both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events. The two levels of service coverage offered under this programme are EMC2, a hands-off solution for customers requiring comprehensive service, and EMCb, which is predominantly a parts-only programme. Both programmes are offered through the GE Honda ASP network.

The HondaJet, which is powered by the HF120, recently received Russian certification.
