Sheltair opens striking facility at Rocky Mountain
Upon entering Sheltair's new FBO terminal, visitors are welcomed by a building representing Colorado, which includes a beetle kill pine ceiling, a full-height stone fireplace, fine artwork and exposed raw steel.
A generous canopy shields guests from the elements.

Sheltair has opened a new FBO and hangar complex at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan airport in Broomfield, Colorado. It features a 10,400 sq ft FBO terminal, close to 11 acres of ramp space and a 31,050 sq ft large cabin class size hangar with 4,455 sq ft of office space attached to serve the local users, business and destination traffic to the Denver area.

The facility features a landside porte-cochere for the front entrance covered vehicle access and a 162 foot wide airside canopy with direct access to the FBO, built to provide maximum comfort levels by shielding customers from the sun, rain and snow. In addition, the new hangar includes temperature control and natural light features through the use of translucent polycarbonate wall panels.

Upon entering the FBO terminal, visitors are welcomed by a building representing Colorado, which includes a beetle kill pine ceiling, a full-height stone fireplace, striking artwork and exposed raw steel. The terminal is further outfitted with in-floor radiant heat for comfort year-round and a 17 foot high glass wall with exterior sun shades. Sheltair has also provided amenities for the travelling executive with a large conference room available for meetings and private areas to conduct business with Wi-Fi access. Guests arriving land side will be greeted with a well-lit ample parking space able to accommodate up to 119 vehicles. EV charging station options are also available for customers using electric vehicles as part of the company's commitment to green initiatives.

“Every detail, from access points and tenant offices to lounges and restrooms, was designed with the customer's comfort, privacy and safety in mind,” comments Lisa Holland, president of Sheltair. “Our new complex and the related services we provide the general aviation community ensure that we can not only meet but exceed the needs of this important and growing market. We look forward to welcoming our wonderful guests to our new home on the western front, particularly as businesses continue to grow in the Denver area and for the upcoming ski season.”

Rocky Mountain Regional airport director Paul Anslow is confident that Sheltair's introduction of its new FBO terminal will further strengthen BJC's reputation as one of the most important airports in Colorado. “Our local aviation community expressed a strong desire for an expansion of available aviation support services, and Sheltair's distinction for modern facilities and commitment to customer support came at the right time to the right place. We are excited to have the Sheltair team at Jefferson County and know they will make Rocky Mountain the regional airport of choice.”
