Duncan's Lincoln and Provo FBOs ascend to Stage II
Duncan Aviation's facility in Provo just celebrated completion of its full-service maintenance and refurbishment facility to go with its FBO. Along with the Lincoln, Nebraska site, it has met IS-BAH Stage II requirements.
Auditor Wyvern was pleased to collaborate with Duncan Aviation.

Two of Duncan Aviation's four FBO facilities – in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Provo, Utah – have earned International Safety for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH) Stage II accreditation. Duncan earned Stage I IS-BAH accreditation by having a physical audit from Wyvern. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Stage II audit took place virtually.

“This virtual audit experience was positive thanks to the preparedness and resourcefulness of the Duncan Aviation team,” says Allison Markey, senior director of audit programmes for Wyvern.

Wyvern CEO Sonnie Bates adds: “We are pleased that Duncan Aviation trusts us to conduct its audits and we look forward to continuing our relationship through future projects.”

Duncan FBO services manager Troy Hyberger is proud of the company's teams: “Progressing to Stage II is really managing our SMS as it matures and we produce desired results by implementing appropriate safety performance indicators and safety performance targets. We have seen our safety culture change over the last few years. Team members actively mitigate risk on a daily basis and record what they see, which enables our leadership team to make immediate changes, if needed, to improve ramp safety.”

Duncan Aviation's full-service facility in Provo just celebrated completion of its phased construction and is now a full-service maintenance and refurbishment provider as well as an FBO facility. Provo FBO services manager Bob Cornett says: “It is an extraordinary achievement for an FBO to go from non-existent to Stage II IS-BAH in less than 18 months. We were able to achieve this only with the support of all four of the FBO's SMS teams working together on continuous improvement and safety management support. It is clear that we are going to be a pioneer in aviation safety management in the coming decades.”

Duncan Aviation's line service amenities include office space, conference rooms, a pilot lounge, advanced weather planning and café service. Customers can also receive de-ice/pre-heat, GPU starts with fuel, baggage handling, on-site rental cars/courtesy cars, on-site fitness facilities, corporate hotel rates, quick turn service, and NATA Safety 1st certified representatives.
