Fiddler names Fosdal as aviation services manager
Following the launch of its Ireland office, Martyn Fiddler Aviation has promoted Lyndsay Fosdal to manage aviation services in the Isle of Man. She will administer ownership companies for clients' business aircraft.
Lyndsay Fosdal will implement growth opportunities for MFA.

Martyn Fiddler Aviation (MFA) has appointed Lyndsay Fosdal manager of aviation services. She will now be responsible for leading the company's team in the Isle of Man, which administers the ownership companies for its clients' business aircraft.

Fosdal joined the Martyn Fiddler group of companies in 2009 and has specialised in aviation since 2012. She is currently studying towards the Institute of Leadership and Management qualifications. She has more than 25 years' experience in the financial services and fiduciary industries and has held several senior positions within financially regulated businesses.

“I feel honoured to be managing such a fantastic and knowledgeable team of aviation specialists,” says Fosdal. “It's an exciting time for the company as it continues to grow and expand into new business areas and jurisdictions. My role is to implement growth opportunities and provide unwavering support to the team to ensure our clients continue to receive the exemplary service they have become accustomed to.”

Director of aviation Martin Kennaugh adds: “Lyndsay has demonstrated to the board that she possesses the right blend of skills to continue to develop the team and our business. Building relationships, problem solving, flexibility and being focussed on details and consequences are key to the success of Martyn Fiddler Aviation, and Lyndsay demonstrates all of these on a daily basis. We are very proud of her taking on this role.”

The company also recently opened a full service office in Ireland, at the Gateway Hub building in Shannon, headed up by customs guru Angie Deady-Fiddler. She is joined by non-executive director Patrick Edmond, who from 2013 to 2019 led the development of Shannon's International Aviation Services Centre (IASC) aviation and aerospace industry cluster.

In a post Brexit world the company wanted to be able to offer solutions based in an onshore EU jurisdiction, which has economic and legal stability and a good international reputation, where aviation is a familiar, accepted and recognised industry, and where a skilled work force already exists. Ireland has long been a home to commercial aircraft leasing, and the legal and taxation regime there, derived through commercial aircraft leasing, also has certain advantages for business aviation.

MFA is already working with several AOC operators and commercial aircraft lessors as well as business aircraft owners in Ireland, and has just recruited its first Ireland-based VAT advisor who will be able to offer indemnified advice to both business and commercial aircraft owners.
