Sales, performance and training shape focus for Dassault
Along with the appointment of a sales director for Eastern Europe, Dassault has released an iPad compatible version of Falcon Perf and renewed FlightSafety's approval as an authorised training provider.
FlightSafety was first granted Dassault's authorised training provider certificate in 2011.

Dassault Aviation has appointed Denis Léculée to the position of Falcon aircraft sales director for Eastern Europe, including Germany and Austria. Léculée joined Dassault Aviation's Saint-Cloud sales department in 2001.

Prior to his promotion, he served as Falcon aircraft sales manager for Northern, Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS countries.

In his new job, Léculée will manage a team of two Falcon aircraft sales managers, also promoted within the company. He will report to Gilles Gautier, vice president, Falcon sales.

“Denis is a real Falcon specialist, familiar with all the technological advantages our products have to offer, and is skilled at establishing strong customer relationships,” says Gautier. “He has always been an excellent ambassador of the Falcon brand and the company values.”

Léculée graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Strasbourg, France majoring in International Relations, and holds a Masters degree in Air Transport Management from France's Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile.

The company has released an iPad compatible version of Falcon Perf on the Falcon 7X and 8X, and this is expected to be available on the Falcon 900EASy and 2000EASy models by July. “Falcon Perf for iPad will be critical in helping crew and operators to optimise their mission and save fuel,” says Falcon operational support vice president Frédéric Leboeuf. “Based on input from customer pilots and Dassault's own flight operations, it is designed to permit the quick calculation of aircraft payload requirements, including last-minute adjustments, and help ensure accurate performance limits.”

The new app is being released in parallel with an iPad compatible version of Dassault's Falcon Sphere electronic flight bag suite, which hosts Falcon Perf and a large number of other Falcon apps. Falcon Sphere on iPad will include many of the leading features of the basic EFB, including the ability to seamlessly prepare, manage and restitute Falcon missions.

Other iPad compatible Falcon Sphere apps are in preparation and will be released in the near future.

Falcon Perf for iPad calculates take-off and landing performance in compliance with Airplane Flight Manuals (AFM) and Dassault Aviation recommendations. Airport data, including one-engine inoperative contingency procedures, are extracted from Jeppesen NavData and OpsData charts and updated every 28 days.

Among the graphically displayed data items are take-off and landing distances for dry, wet and contaminated runways, a vertical cross-section view of the take off flight path, a tabulated summary of the maximum weight variation with input, Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW), Take-Off Safety Altitude (TOSA) and Maximum Landing Weight (MLW), taking into account various factors and more.

Dassault has also renewed the certificate of approval that names FlightSafety as an authorised training provider in accordance with the Falcon training policy manual. FlightSafety was the first to receive a Dassault authorised training provider certificate in 2011.

President and CEO David Davenport says: “This three year renewal by Dassault of our authorised training provider certificate clearly demonstrates our commitment and ability to provide Dassault and all Falcon Jet aircraft operators with the highest quality training, exceptional value and outstanding service they deserve.”

The Dassault authorised training provider programme is designed to ensure that Falcon Jet operators from around the world receive training in accordance with the Dassault Falcon training policy manual (FTPM).

FlightSafety provides professional training for the Falcon 10/100, Falcon 20/20-5, Falcon 50, 50EX, Falcon 200, Falcon 2000/EX, 2000EX EASy/DX/LX/LXS, Falcon 900B/C, 900EX, 900EX EASy/DX/LX, 7X and 8X aircraft.

Training is provided at FlightSafety's Learning Centers in Columbus, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; Houston, Texas; Teterboro, New Jersey; Wilmington, Delaware; and at Paris-Le Bourget airport.
