Ocala looks forward to new terminal with Sheltair FBO
The City of Ocala, the FAA, the Florida Department of Transportation and FBO provider Sheltair have pulled together to raise $6.1 million for a GA terminal that will unite services currently spread around the airport.

The City of Ocala is to begin construction of a new general aviation terminal at Ocala International airport. The 17,500 sq ft terminal will include office space for Sheltair Aviation, the airport's FBO, along with airport administration, a large restaurant with meeting rooms, three car rental service areas and additional office space for future tenants. It is due to open in December 2019.

Funding for construction of the new terminal was made possible through grants from the Florida Department of Transportation, the FAA, airport funds and the City of Ocala's partnership with Sheltair Aviation. The approximate cost of the project is $6.1 million.

“The general aviation terminal is the central hub of activity at the airport,” says Ocala International director Matt Grow. “The current general aviation terminal, constructed in 1962, has served its purpose well. However, the new terminal will make a great first impression for aviators and guests arriving here for business or pleasure. Sheltair Aviation already provides outstanding customer service and this new state-of-the-art facility will further enhance that experience by bringing together many of the aviation services that are currently spread throughout the airport.”
