Operators sign with GCL to take care of crew services
Leading operators NetJets, Luxaviation and Jet Aviation have teamed up with Miami-based Global Crew Logistics for expanded crew travel management and procurement services.

Leading operators NetJets, Luxaviation and Jet Aviation have teamed up with Miami-based Global Crew Logistics for expanded crew travel management and procurement services.

NetJets has been a GCL customer for its US operations since 2000, and has now signed a single contract which covers its global operations. “Our corporate travel needs are unique,” says VP of global travel Mark Dropsey.

“About 95 per cent of our travel is last-minute and crew-centric, and could be to or from anywhere on the planet. When we decided to consolidate our corporate travel purchasing, we saw GCL as a great partner to be our global travel management company. It clearly understands the demands of our business and the importance we place on taking care of our crews.

“Its custom travel hotel and air programmes and technology have helped us control our travel costs, improve the efficiency of our repositioning and take care of our people no matter where they are or where they're headed.”

GCL has had a successful partnership with ExecuJet historically, and once ExecuJet was absorbed into the Luxaviation group, GCL became a favourable option for Luxaviation. As for Jet Aviation, GCL CEO Charlie McDonald says that the Zurich-headquartered outfit is an excellent fit for what his company has to offer; having signed for its US ops initially in 2002, Jet Aviation signed an expanded contract to cover global ops in 2015: “With its 4,500 employees operating across several different business units, we understand how critical it is that Jet Aviation is able to thoroughly analyse its company-wide travel trends and costs,” he says.

“With our software, Jet Aviation can easily view and sort transactions and reservations by employee, crew member, fleet, aircraft type, cost centre, customer, jet owner, location, or any other required business metric.” Reporting includes analysis of cost per mile, average daily rate paid and market share per supplier.
