Press Release
Issued by DEA.
May 27, 2010
DEA is pleased to annouce that with effect from May 27th 2010, a DA42 TwinStar G-DSKY is now operational on the DEA fleet, joining its sisters G-DJET and G-PETS. After an exhaustive upgrade and maintenance program, G-DSKY is declared operational by DEA and the CAA.
G-DSKY is an identical sister to G-DJET and G-PETS, a 2006 DA42 Twinstar, Thielert powered version with the latest Garmin software upgrades for the revolutionary glass flight deck system.
The proving flight test was conducted on May 26th by DEA's Head of Flight Operations, Captain John Dundon with DEA's CEO, Peter Bondar as an observer.
The initial Certificate of Airworthiness was issued the following day by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, which allows DEA to commence immediate operations with G-DSKY.
Captain Dundon commented "G-DSKY's test program was conducted in text book fashion with no anomalies noted and performance equal to or better than the manufacturers 'book' figures. Diamond Aircraft's (the manufacturer) production processes are very consistent and as a result all three aircraft we now have fly and behave in almost identical fashion".
