London Oxford Airport t/a Oxfordjet (FBO)

Press Release

Issued by London Oxford Airport t/a Oxfordjet (FBO).

January 12, 2010

London Oxford Airport checks in for Schedulers and Dispatchers

For the second consecutive year, London Oxford Airport will be participating at the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference being held from January 27-29 in San Antonio, Texas.  Head of Customer Services, David Surley and Customer Service team member, Sarah Appleton, will be highlighting the benefits of the UK's newest business aviation centre at Booth # 809.

London Oxford Airport, UK started the new decade on a high, having scooped the accolade of Best Business Aviation Airport 2009 from the UK Airport Operators Association.  It also recently obtained Customs Designated status, so enabling business aircraft to be imported direct and cleared via London Oxford Airport.

London Oxford Airport opened its oxfordjet business aviation terminal in July 2008.  Today it handles an ever-increasing number of daily business aviation movements, especially from international visiting jets originating from as far afield as the Caribbean, Middle East and Africa.  It is also seeing a general increase in average aircraft size with Embraer Legacy 600, Falcon 900 and 2000 aircraft based on-site and also popular with the new ultra long-range Falcon 7X.   Its prestigious new FBO passenger terminal is part of ongoing investment airport-wide, which has also included a new runway, ILS, new jet apron, enhanced fire and rescue capability, new hangarage and also new domestic and international scheduled airline services.

The oxfordjet FBO facility boasts a fresh, modern exterior design.  Inside there are separate lounges for crews, along with VIP and VVIP zones for passengers, assuring maximum privacy.  Private shower rooms, a crew kitchen and meeting rooms are provided, together with customs and immigration facilities - pre-clearance immigration at London Oxford is a fast and efficient way to enter the UK with minimum fuss.  Check-in and security screening are convenient and swift, ensuring foyer-to-take-off times are minimal.

More business aviation operators are choosing Oxford Airport

London Oxford Airport, home to business aviation operators Hangar 8, Icejet, London Executive Aviation, PremiAir, Capital Air Services, Air Med, Eurocopter and FlairJet, the new Embraer Phenom 100 operator, is now recognised as an attractive alternative to other London airports.   Located just 40 miles (64km) from Greater London and with easy access to the UK's motorway network, Oxford is served by the fastest and least congested of London's key arterial routes, just an hour's drive from London's west end.  Connectivity to Oxford is superb and the airport also benefits from being just outside the congested London TMA (terminal movement area).

Central London just 22-minutes away by helicopter shuttle

All private jet passengers flying in and out of Oxford Airport have access to a seamless transfer facility provided by Capital Air Services.  oxfordjet is marketing these executive helicopter services as part of its customer services package with all bookings and enquiries processed by the oxfordjet Customer Services Team, located at the new terminal.

Customs Designated Airport

Last November, London Oxford Airport achieved Customs Designated status, enabling operators, sales companies and maintenance organisations to import from third party countries without the need to go via another airport in the UK first.

Pet Travel Scheme (PETS)

London Oxford Airport gained DEFRA approval in September, becoming only the second General Aviation/Business Aviation Airport in the UK to be approved for the importation of pets.  Owners of dogs, cats and ferrets can now, for the first time, transport their pets on flights into the Airport from overseas under the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) which includes animals being flown into the UK from the United States and Canada.
