Former leader of Red Arrows joins Moon Jet Group

Newcastle-based aircraft remarketing company Moon Jet Group has announced that Jas Hawker, ex-leader of the world-famous Red Arrows has joined the organisation as chief operating officer. His responsibilities will include oversight of all day-to-day operations as well as continuing to develop Moon Jet Group’s international presence.

Jas brings to Moon Jet Group a career in aviation and business that is unparalleled. He spent 24 years as an RAF pilot, amassing well over 5,000 hours flying fast jet aircraft. He was the youngest pilot to fly the Tornado on the front-line and was qualified to lead any scale of mission, anywhere in the world. His flying career also included six years as a Red Arrows display pilot, including three years as the leader and Commanding Officer where he performed over 500 public displays throughout the UK, Europe, Canada, North America, Middle East and Asia. Jas has also worked within the UK Ministry of Defence where he identified and analysed global security challenges in order to provide timely strategic level advice to senior military officers and ministers. He is a distinguished graduate of the Australian Command and Staff College and Manchester Business School.

Jas Hawker said, “This is a really exciting opportunity for me at Moon Jet Group. We have over 100 aircraft valued at over £450 million on our books and we are looking to continue our growth within the aircraft remarketing, charter and management areas, both in the UK and overseas. I am passionate about aviation, business management and attention to detail and I’m keen to ensure that our clients receive the world-class service they require.”

Moon Jet Group CEO and founder, James Moon has been named as one of the entrepreneurs to watch in the UK. He was just 17 when he realised his dream of becoming a pilot, reaching his goal of a Private Pilot’s Licence after fighting back to health following an injury where he broke his back. He said “Moon Jet group has experienced significant growth over the past year and having someone of Jas’s experience on board is fantastic. Our vision is to be the first-choice aircraft remarketing, management and charter partner for organisations and individuals who demand a world-class service.”
