Alaska Aerofuel Inc. has been nominated as a finalist for the 2016 “Best FBO” award by members of the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA). Alaska Aerofuel is the only US owned FBO nominated as a finalist. It is also the only FBO nominated located outside of Asia. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in corporate aviation fixed based operations (FBO). AsBAA will announce this year's award winner at its Icons of Aviation Charity Gala to be held in Hong Kong on November 6. 

AsBAA is a non-profit association representing more than 100 entities based in Asia and around the world. AsBAA members are the major operators, aircraft manufacturers, aviation service providers, finance and insurance providers as well as business aviation users. AsBAA's specific interest is in the advocacy and development of business aviation throughout Asia.

Alaska Aerofuel is delighted by this recognition. To see more jets out of Asia utilizing Fairbanks over other airports is exciting. Over the last decade, Alaska Aerofuel Inc. has participated in the growth of the Asian corporate aviation market by way of its special services for international tech-stops between North America and Asia. Alaska Aerofuel is the only FBO in Alaska with onsite US Customs & Immigration and actively serves Asia aircraft operators as an information portal pertaining to entry into the US.

The nomination is further testimony to the safety, and logistics offered in Fairbanks. Continued increase in Asian traffic also strengthens the local economy by generating greater airport revenue, creating more local jobs, and using more local businesses such as “gift vendors” (catering, tea, peonies) as well as commercial flights for crew-swaps, hotels, restaurants and local activities. To be nominated as a finalist inspires Alaska Aerofuel to continue to surpass client expectations and foster commerce between the continents.
