Rockwell Collins to provide Venue based cabin system on Bombardier Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft

Rockwell Collins today announced that its Venue high-definition cabin management and entertainment system will be featured on new Bombardier Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft beginning in Q3 of 2016. It will also be available as a retrofit solution on in-service Global aircraft models through Bombardier service centres.

Venue, which has been installed in more than 850 private and corporate aircraft cabins around the world, is custom built with the most advanced cabin technologies to emulate the latest in home entertainment and boardroom technology. Plus, Venue's open-architecture design provides a path to easily implement future cabin technologies.

“Venue offers the proven reliability and the flexibility to allow passengers to work and play without compromise,” said Scott Gunnufson, vice president, sales, marketing and customer support, commercial systems for Rockwell Collins. “At the same time, Global aircraft operators can have peace of mind knowing that their cabin management system will accommodate new technologies as they become available.”

“Our long-range Global business jets routinely fly the world's most discerning travellers to remote destinations in the ultimate luxury and comfort. These customers are seeking the same cutting-edge technology in the air as they use in their offices or living rooms. This new cabin management system seamlessly blends ease of use and advanced functionality to deliver the best in business productivity, and entertainment at 51,000 feet,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, vice president, strategy, marketing and innovation, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “The features, technology and reliability of the Venue system are a perfect fit with our high-performing Global aircraft family.”

Today's announcement marks a continuation of a long-term position for Rockwell Collins as the cabin management system supplier for Bombardier on the aircraft maker's Global XRS, Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft.
