Jet Aviation Zurich signs dispenser fueling agreement with Lufthansa Group

Jet Aviation Zurich has recently signed an agreement with the Lufthansa Group to provide high-volume fuel uplifts through docked dispenser fueling. The company successfully fueled its first Lufthansa Group aircraft with dispenser fueling on January 1, 2016.

As part of its agreement with Lufthansa, Jet Aviation Zurich purchased two new dispenser trucks and hired five new truck operators, thereby expanding its fueling team to 18, and sent three refueling operators to Frankfurt, Germany, for dispenser training.‎ Jet Aviation Zurich provided dispenser fueling to a Swiss International Air Lines aircraft, a Geneva-bound Airbus A320, for the first time on January 1, 2016. Swiss is owned by the Lufthansa Group.

“Hydrant dispensers have many integrated safety features and are capable of efficiently dispensing high volumes of aviation fuel," explains project manager Daniel Brechbühl. "Our goal is to seamlessly ensure the highest safety standards for our customers and all of our dedicated staff has completed dispenser fuel training. They have specifically been trained to securely attach our new hydrant dispenser trucks to an underground fuel pipeline system through which fuel is quickly dispensed to the aircraft."

“Lufthansa Corporate Fuel Management is fully supporting Jet Aviation's approach to further expand their business to demonstrate its capabilities,” said Deutsche Lufthansa's director of fuel purchasing Thorsten Lange. “They will not only provide state-of-the-art bowser-fuelings but also deliver reliable, on time services with dispensers and well trained staff that now completes Jet Aviation's jet business portfolio at Zurich Airport.”

“We have been fueling aircraft under the Lufthansa Group for more than 35 years,” says Monica Beusch, general manager of Jet Aviation Zurich and head of FBO services in EMEA and Asia. “Throughout this time we have maintained an excellent safety record while consistently demonstrating our ability to fuel their aircraft punctually. This dispenser fueling agreement attests Lufthansa's trust in us to meet their needs to the highest standards.”

Since expanding its service offerings to include dispenser fueling on January 1, 2016, the professional fueling team at Jet Aviation Zurich has already dispensed 8.9 million liters of Jet A-1 fuel with its new hydrant dispenser trucks to date.
