Visitors and exhibitors acknowledge Biggin Hill's BGAD as 'best ever'

With over 700 visitors, 60 exhibitors and 20 aircraft and helicopters on display, the move of the BGAD show to London Biggin Hill Airport has been acknowledged as a tremendous success and the best so far in the series.

Exhibitors represented the full spectrum of business aviation. Show highlights included the UK premier of the Textron Cessna Latitude; the launch of TBM dealer Flying Smart's new sales base at Biggin Hill; Globeair's promotion of its new collaboration with BACA and Zenith Aviation's introduction of its new charter fleet, amongst many other industry offerings, at what proved to be an excellent showcase for the best of British business aviation.

Charter brokers and aircraft operators joined in a lively selection of talks, discussions and seminars hosted by BACA and the BBGA. Especially welcomed by the charter broker community was the 'speed dating' session with 11 leading operators participating who hosted seminar tables to meet charter brokers circulating for time-limited (three mins) information briefings.

Textron Aviation commented “BGAD provided an important opportunity for our company to present its latest news and product updates to the operator and broker community in the UK. Once again, the show did not disappoint. The format and setting made for a highly productive day and we are already looking forward to the 2016 event.”

Leading aircraft charter operator Vertis said that “Having the beautiful Gulfstream G450 on display was a tremendous bonus. During the day, dozens of visitors were shown the aircraft and discussed its capabilities with the crew. It was a great opportunity to display the aircraft to our broker colleagues and raise awareness. The BGAD show was very focused and well attended by industry people.”

Andy Patsalides, marketing manager of London Biggin Hill airport commented “We were delighted to welcome so many friends and business colleagues to BGAD for the first time here at Biggin Hill. The event was not only a real showcase for the airport, but we were especially delighted that by moving the show to London for the first time, it resulted in a significant increase in both visitor and exhibitor numbers.”

“We were proud to be able to to round the day off with a tribute to 'The Few', who flew from Biggin Hill during the Battle of Britain, with a special flying display from a based Hurricane, providing a fitting finale to a valuable and achieving business aviation focus” he said.

Fittingly, the 11th edition of BGAD was hosted at Biggin Hill on the nationally recognised Battle of Britain Day in the year of the 75th anniversary of the historic air campaign of 1940.
