IBAC announces three further IS-BAH registrations

The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) today announced three further registrations to the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS- BAH), a global code of best safety practices.

AviationAffaires, Aeroport Avignon Provence, France gained certification after successfully implementing the IS-BAH for its business aviation activities. Inflite The Jet Centre, London Stansted Airport, UK, became the first UK company to achieve the IS-BAH. The global reach of the Standard was highlighted when MJets of Bangkok, Thailand, added the IS-BAH to their recent IS-BAO achievement and were confirmed the first facility in south east Asia to have successfully demonstrated conformity to the Standard through completion of an external audit by an IBAC-accredited auditor.

“We are pleased that as the IS-BAH enters its second year since its launch in 2014, interest and registration numbers continue to grow,” said Terry Yeomans, director, IS-BAH programme. “By voluntarily adopting and implementing the IS-BAH, these companies lead the business aviation sector by example, showing a clear commitment to core values of safety and their efforts to eliminate hazards through the industry best practices centred on ICAO SMS principles.”

The IS-BAH is a global code of best practices for the FBO and business aviation handling agent (BAHA) community, created for the industry by the industry. It incorporates the safety management system (SMS) concept in all aspects of FBO/BAHA operations and is complementary with the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) used by their operator clients.

The IS-BAH is a joint program between IBAC and the National Air Transportation Association (NATA). It incorporates the NATA Safety 1st ground audit program and follows the long established structure of the IS-BAO program.

The 2015/16 Standard is now available. Interested organizations may go to the IBAC website, www.ibac.org, or the NATA website, www.nata.aero , for further information or contact their local business aviation association that is a member of IBAC.
