Vision Systems presents complete customized systems for windows, solar protection and IFE at Heli Expo

Vision Systems, a tier 1 system supplier for the aeronautics market and a world leader in solar protection solutions, will present its innovative systems dedicated to the helicopter market: bad weather windows and doors, cyclic sticks, subsystems, IFE systems, and solar protection systems including cockpit blinds, cabin shades and electronically dimmable solutions from booth 5404 at Heli Expo during 3-5 March 2015 in Orlando, Florida.

Mastering different processes such as resin transfer molding, thermocompression, thermoforming and draping, aside of mechanics and electronics, Vision Systems offers complete functional systems with innovative features, easy to install and to maintain, recognized as best in class products by its customers such as Airbus Helicopters.

Vision Systems' cyclic sticks, made from composite (RTM), which allows the production of complex geometries and provides very robust lightweight components, are delivered as ready-to-install products.

The bad weather windows, combining thermocompression and drape forming offer excellent mechanical properties, resistance to vibration and impact, and high optical quality glazing.

Vision Systems will also exhibit its cutting-edge IFE system, a scalable and flexible solution with customized user interface and various vip options to enhance work efficiency and passenger comfort. Different configurations are possible with one single box and various screens with full HD or wireless tablets. Other options include the monitoring and recording of images from external cameras.

Vision Systems electronically dimmable windows (EDW) can be used for solar protection or privacy. These solutions dim from clear to dark in three seconds to reduce light, glare and heat entering the helicopter, providing improved thermal comfort while preserving the view. They are not cumbersome and offer a sleek, elegant design. They also contribute to a reduction of air conditioning consumption as they are at their darkest possible state when the aircraft is on the ground thus maximizing heat rejection and keeping interiors cooler. These solutions also block more than 99.9% of UV light. Furthermore, these systems have no moving parts as electronics is fully integrated, reducing maintenance costs and downtime. They can be controlled from a touch panel directly on the window, a control panel or a Personal Electronic Device such as a wireless tablet.

Vision Systems' EDW are suitable for flat, curved or 3D windows, and are now available in multizone (darker from the top down like a Venetian blind, from the bottom up, or by adjusting any zone at any level), in different colors and tints to tailor responses to the requirements of the customers, and also include a window or partition solution for complete privacy (clear to opaque white). These systems can be combined with motorized roller or pleated shades to bring a warmer design in the cabin, that will be presented at the show.
