AMAC Aerospace begins construction of fourth hangar

AMAC Aerospace is proud to announce that the building work for an additional hangar is now under way. The 7,280 sqm hangar will be AMAC's fourth and is due for completion around Q3/Q4 2015. The construction takes into account the enlargement of the apron area, which provides secure fenced tarmac for parked aircraft, and it will give AMAC Aerospace the opportunity to further build new offices, workshops, store areas and archiving areas. Hangar 4 is being built with a view to complementing the demand for wide body aircraft maintenance although, depending on demand, it can also cater for other aircraft activities.

The positions of aircraft within the new hangar allow AMAC Aerospace to house one wide body aircraft with two narrow body jets behind. With a total workable area of more than 28,000 sqm of hangar shop floor space, AMAC Aerospace is ready to meet the demand and welcome its esteemed clientele who wish to have 'Swiss excellence in business aviation'.

“The enlargement of our Basel, Switzerland facility fits into our business model, which is an enlargement of 17% of our secure tarmac area and nearly 35% enlargement of our total hangar space with the addition of Hangar 4, giving us more than 85,000 sqm total. Everyone at AMAC Aerospace is proud to see the enlargement of our facility grow proportionally to the workload we have. In 2015, we hope to see all four of our hangars in full use” says group chief financial officer Mr. Mauro Grossi.
