Epic journey sees Hawker Pacific receive delivery of two Barons

Hawker Pacific, Asia Pacific's leading aircraft sales, services and product support company, is excited to announce the delivery of two Baron G58s to Bankstown Airport following an astounding journey across the globe from the USA to Australia. The aircraft are being prepared for delivery to private customers.

The aircraft departed Santa Maria, California on January 5th 2013 and flew 2045 nautical miles across the Pacific Ocean to Hilo, Hawaii (11.41hours) before heading off on the second, andlongest, leg of the journey (2235nm) to Pago Pago, American Samoa which took 12.46hours. The aircraft were then flown to the Gold Coast (2159nm) before arriving at Bankstown, Sydney. The two Baron G58 aircraft flew a total distance of 8551nm and flying time on the brand new aircraft was 48.51hours. According to the pilots the aircraft 'performed like champions' with anincredibly smooth journey, minimal oil burn and achieving 1200 feet per minute climb rate at its initial gross weight of 7400lbs (130%).

Tony Jones, Hawker Pacific's Senior Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Flight Services Group said: "We're really excited about the arrival these G58 Barons to Bankstown Airport. They are the first new interior G58s sold in the region, so it's a landmark moment and we will have some very happy new owners. The Baron G58 is hands down one of the best aircraft in its class and continues to surpass expectations – which is why we stand by our prediction of a continued increase in demand over the coming years."

The G58 interior upgrade encompasses a new air conditioning and automatic climate control system featuring engine-driven compressor units installed in the tail cone. The unit is approved for operation in all phases of flight, including take-off with condenser and evaporator and has a "set and forget" feature allowing the operator to select the desired cabin temperature that will beautomatically maintained by an Electronic Control Unit.

All external lights on the aircraft utilise LED bulbs which have no glass filament to break, so they are shock and vibration resistant while consuming significantly less energy. The solid state LED light lasts more than 8,000 hours, greatly reducing operational costs. The Synthetic Vision and Scimitar Props complete the refreshed Baron line.

Highlights of the Baron G58 include twin-engine power, redundancy and safety, a top cruise speed of 230 miles per hour with a maximum range of almost 1,700 statute miles, best in classsingle-engine climb rate of 390 feet per minute, a generous 28 cubic feet of dedicated baggage space provides, and more.
