Dassault Falcon rolls out FalconBroadcast

Dassault Falcon has rolled out a new airborne health monitoring service that provides real-time notification of in-flight events and maintenance status. The new tool, known as FalconBroadcast, helps operators begin the troubleshooting process of unscheduled maintenance events while the aircraft is still in the air, allowing them to maximize the dispatch rate of their aircraft.

"FalconBroadcast is a tremendous leap ahead in the world of business aviation maintenance and troubleshooting," said Jacques Chauvet, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Customer Service. "With more efficient troubleshooting tools, aircraft maintenance teams can not only increase aircraft availability but quickly resolve or even avoid AOG situations. We had very positive feedback from customers in the field who have helped us to test and refine the system over the past year."

FalconBroadcast is available on any Falcon equipped with Dassault award-winning EASy cockpit. Maintenance messages generated by the Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) are transmitted via a satellite or Very High Frequency (VHF) radio communications link to Dassault, where it is automatically filtered and sorted and sent to the operator's ground crew. This allows them to keep up with the airplane status from anywhere in the world.

The broadcast can be transmitted automatically or manually by the crew depending on the nature of the event. When an unscheduled maintenance event does occur and the operator receives an e-mail alert, he simply logs onto the Falcon portal where he can access detailed failure and maintenance reports. These provide the event history, timeline and contributing factors that will enable him to identify the root cause of the failure and find the solution. If needed, the operator can then order the parts and tooling necessary to fix the problem and dispatch service teams, all while the aircraft is still in the air.

FalconBroadcast will be available for Falcon 7X operators in June and for Falcon 900 EASy and Falcon 2000 EASy equipped aircraft later this year.
