Jet Aviation Dusseldorf upgrades tenant hangar to maintenance hangar

Jet Aviation Dusseldorf completed the refurbishment of its third hangar, converting the former tenant-only hangar to a 2,450 sq. m. (26,372 sq. ft.) maintenance and tenant hangar. By investing in these major refurbishments, the hangar can now be used for both tenants and maintenance. Heating, lighting and electrical systems were installed, in addition to transparent insulated gates. The new insulated wooden roof adds 3 meters to the height of the hangar, along with a new electro static dissipative flooring system to better protect personnel and sensitive electronic equipment from electrical shock. The hangar can now support maintenance activities on up to 9 mid-sized aircraft, such as the Cessna Citation Sovereign. “By increasing the use of the tenant hangar space for maintenance purposes we can speed up the maintenance cycle on our customers’ aircraft for a faster return to service,” says Sebastian Groeger, vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation Dusseldorf. Christof Späth, senior vice president of MRO and FBO services for Jet Aviation EMEA & Asia adds, “With this hangar refurbishment, we have upgraded two of our three hangars in Dusseldorf and intend to complete the third this year. In making state-of-the-art facilities and equipment available to our customers, we strengthen our ability to best meet their needs and the increasing demand for maintenance services.”
