ExecuJet Switzerland set for busy week at World Economic Forum, Davos

ExecuJet Switzerland is preparing to handle a record number of private jet movements this week when The World Economic Forum opens in Davos, Switzerland (January 23-27).  And this year, with parking restrictions in place at Zurich Airport owing to ongoing works and its adoption of a permanent slot allocation system, ExecuJet has obtained exclusive rights to use the Dübendorf Airport (LSMD), a military airport located north east of Zurich. (Dübendorf is home to the Swiss Air Force VIP Flight, which operates Learjet and Falcon 50 aircraft). ExecuJet is also recommending its clients use Swiss airport, St. Gallen-Altenrhein (LSZR), located on the edge of Lake Constance.

ExecuJet's FBO (fixed based operation) is expecting to handle over 325 movements over the WEF, having seen private jet traffic grow from over 200 movements in 2006 to more than 300 in 2007.

With its nearly 4,920 ft runway, St Gallen (LSZR) is capable of handling large business jets such as Bombardier's Global Express, the Gulfstream V or Falcon 900. ExecuJet is anticipating VIP delegations, which include Ministers and Presidents, to arrive in these larger bizjets, even Boeing Business Jets.

The location of St. Gallen-Altenrhein means that delegates can save at least 30 minutes' drive time to Davos. And being a much smaller airport, handling is much quicker too, further reducing the journey time.

At Dübendorf Airport, ExecuJet has secured parking for 10-15 aircraft. Handling must be carried out by ExecuJet's Zurich-based FBO before aircraft are positioned to Dübendorf. Both parking slots and hangarage can be booked through ExecuJet, which will have representatives there to look after flight crews.

"A large number of dignitaries and celebrities are travelling to Switzerland for the WEF – and we wish to make their experience with ExecuJet both smooth and pleasant," said Peter Hartmann, Managing Director ExecuJet Europe. "Davos is not far from the renowned winter sport resorts including Lech-Zurs, Arosa, Laax and Lenzerheide so many visitors are certain to stay on for a few days. They will appreciate the discretion, privacy, friendliness and convenience of the two airports we are working with next week."
