Spectrum Aeromed offers STCS for modular EMS interior for Cessna Caravan and Conquest II

Spectrum Aeromed, a leading global designer and manufacturer of customized air medical equipment, has obtained FAA supplemental type certifications (STCs) for the Cessna 208 Caravan and Cessna 441 Conquest II aircraft.

"The Cessna 208 and Cessna 441 continue to be an adaptive aircraft for medical patient transport," said Scott Sarver, manager of special mission sales for Cessna. "These STCs will help meet the needs of customers looking for a customized air medical solution through Spectrum Aeromed's quick-change equipment, which allows operators to use their aircraft for a variety of missions, including, but not limited to emergency medical transport."

The first Cessna 441 Conquest II installation was successfully completed in a multi-mission aircraft for the Ernir Air fleet in Iceland.

"After a survey of different products, it was easy to make the decision and I am happy we selected Spectrum Aeromed to serve our need for air ambulance equipment in Iceland and the North Atlantic Region," says Hordur Gudmundsson, president and chief executive officer of Ernir Air.

Spectrum Aeromed partnered with Fargo Jet Center to complete the STC process on one of their 208 Caravan aircraft. The two companies will also work together in the coming weeks to outfit a 208B Grand Caravan for a Philippines-based customer. The Caravan is ideal for medical transport because it features a large rear cargo door and the ability to operate on and off unpaved surfaces.

"Our primary focus is to meet and exceed the needs of our customers by providing individualized solutions to their specific operational needs," said Bruce Gullingsrud, vice president of business development for Spectrum Aeromed. "The Cessna 208 and 441 STCs further enhance the depth of the custom EMS options we can offer to help clients successfully build or expand their businesses with multi-mission aircraft."
