DEA

Press Release

Issued by DEA.

July 24, 2009

AOC granted to DEA

On Friday 24th July 2009, DEA was granted its AOC allowing commencement of revenue earning operations.

DEA is pleased to announce that at 17:10 on Friday 24th July it received from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, its Air Operator Certifcate GB2339, granted under EU-OPS pursusant to annex III to the regulation (EEC) No 3922/ 1991 of the European Parliament and Council.

It marks the culmination of a 7 year journey, the genesis being the first test flight of the DA42 Twinstar in December 2002.

In that prototype we saw the potential for a new generation of small, economical and very capable air charter/taxi solutions.

In June 2006 we started the formal process of developing an AOC submission, formally applying in March 2008.

At times, some if not all people doubted whether we would ever complete the journey.

Today, £1m later and 7 years on from that seminal moment of the first flight of the DA42 we are proud to offer to an unsuspecting world our new service offering.

Along the way over 25 people have aided, guided and assisted us.

In creating the first UK approval for the DA42 Twin Star to be granted under EU-OPS, we have written 125,000 words for the AOC manuals and expended thousands of hours, researching and developing our offering.

We would like to thank everyone who, in so many ways have helped us and supported us.
