The merging of Aviation Center Cologne Flugzeugwartung GmbH (ACC) and Columbia Jet Service GmbH will further strengthen the position of the arising aircraft repair and maintenance organisation at the airports of Cologne and Hanover. From the first of October 2009, both companies will merge into ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH.
This step may bring about substantial benefits for the companies involved: A comprehensive presence due to the two existing locations, the ACC headquarters at Cologne airport with its own hangar as well as the newly built Hangar 16 of Columbia Jet Service GmbH at Hanover airport. Therefore, the new organisation will present itself even more capable of competing and more flexible in responsing to customer requests. The top management ist composed of general managers (GMs) Karsten Schäfer (53), Joachim Taube (49) and Martin Krafft (34) as well as authorised representatives Christian Kinitz (37) and Alexander Kneifel (39).
"Our clients will benefit from our joint operations with ACC“, says former Columbia Jet Service GM Karsten Schäfer (53). "We will advance in progress by three to five years and will be able to provide a larger range of services at different locations. Furthermore, we will offer our employees in Hanover and Cologne a better security of employment.“ During the past months, Columbia Jet Service GmbH frequently announced new staff acquisitions in Hanover, more are going to follow under the umbrella of ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH. Joachim Taube, former GM of ACC, is also looking forward to the new cooperation: "ACC has operated successfully in maintenance business for 15 years and enjoys a very good reputation within our branch."
Starting from the first of October, both locations Cologne and Hanover are able to perform maintenance for the following types of aircraft: Astra, Gulfstream, Cessna, Bombardier, Falcon and Citation. In addition to the existing satellite station in Luxembourg, ACC Columbia Jet Service GmbH plans to open another satellite station in Pafos (Cyprus) at the end of this year.
