Ortac (AOC)

2-REG Guernsey Aircraft Registry

Press Release

Issued by Ortac (AOC).

May 24, 2018

ORTAC granted approval to operate commercial charter

Channel Islands based corporate jet operations business, ORTAC (AOC) Ltd is proud to announce that it has been awarded an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for international charter by the Director of Civil Aviation of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, known as 2-REG.

ORTAC is one of only a handful of companies to have received an AOC from the internationally respected registration team at 2-REG and the only Jersey-based company to have been granted registration, creating a unique proposition in the Channel Islands. This means that the company is now able to undertake the commercial operation of aircraft, on behalf of its clients, to provide charter services to the public.

Tobi Mathews, managing director, comments: “This is an extremely exciting business development for us at ORTAC and it has huge benefits for our clients. Until now, our established business has been dealing with the private management and operation of aircraft and providing charter brokerage services.

“The process of obtaining our AOC from 2-REG has been extremely rigorous, requiring us to demonstrate that we have excellent operational systems and procedures in place at every level. Throughout this stringent process, we have enjoyed a superb relationship with the supportive and professional team at 2-REG.

“Being awarded our AOC means that we can now operate aircraft, under our management, commercially and help our clients to off-set their running costs by making their aircraft available for charter.

“This is a world-leading development within the industry and presents an exciting opportunity for business aviation customers, looking for a commercial proposition for the management of their aircraft.”

ORTAC currently manages a Cessna Citation Bravo, which is about to commence commercial operations. The company is also in the process of taking delivery of two further Cessna Citation aircraft, a Citation CJ3+ and a Cessna Citation M2. ORTAC anticipates that these aircraft will be in operation and ready for public charter by the end of June 2018.

ORTAC is supported by continuing airworthiness management organisation PB Engineering Solutions in Farnborough.
