Multiflight's new VIP Airbus H155B1 helicopter makes first charter outing for Tour de Yorkshire

Multiflight's new VIP Airbus H155B1 charter helicopter had its first official outing, flying Tour de Yorkshire representatives around the county ahead of the big event.

On the flight to locations around the county were: Sir Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire; Christian Prudhomme, general director of the Tour de France, and Thomas Voeckler, former winner of the Tour de Yorkshire. The purpose of the flight, on Wednesday May 2nd, was to see what the county has done to celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire, including visits to schools to see land art created and bicycles painted in yellow and blue displayed. There were large crowds for the helicopter tour of the county.

Sir Gary Verity said: “It was great to see the wonderful creations communities across Yorkshire have come up with to celebrate the 2018 Tour de Yorkshire; they really have done the county proud!

“To see these fantastic pieces of art from the air, as they will be seen by millions of people when the tour is beamed around the world this weekend, made our tour of the county extra special.”

Multiflight was delighted to be part of the day, which reinforced just how big the Tour de Yorkshire has become and the impact it has on the county. It was a great first outing for the operator's new VIP Airbus H155 helicopter, which has joined its existing luxury helicopter charter fleet, which includes two eight-seat AS365 Dauphin helicopters.

The new helicopter offers seating for up to eight passengers, sat telephone, excellent baggage capacity, with speeds in excess of 165mph and a range of over 400 miles.
