EASA STC for installation of QFJ five-blade MTV-27 on Cessna 208 Blackhawk XP140 with PT6A-140 engine

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received EASA STC 10058942 Rev.1 for the next generation five-blade Quiet Fan Jet scimitar composite propeller MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(P)/CFR245-55a on the Cessna 208, 208B Blackhawk with Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A engines and new with Pratt & Whitney PT6A-140.

The installation on the Cessna 208 Blackhawk with the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A engine is also supplemental type certified by FAA. FAA certification for the PT6A-140 powered CE208 is under application.

MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht announces, that the installation of the five-blade QFJ Propeller feature the following advantages:

- Best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation.

- Bonded on nickel alloy leading edge for best erosion protection of the blades.

- Equal or better performance.

- Unlimited blade life.

- Significant inside and outside noise reduction.

- Increased ground clearance for less blade tip erosion.

- FOD repairable blades.

- 200 ft shorter take-off distance.

- Three kts cruise speed increase.

- With optional rpm reduction to 1950 rpm (only for XP42): All models comply with the strict German 2010 "Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung“ noise regulations for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.

- With the XP140 installation: All models comply with the strict German 2010 "Landeplatz Lärmschutz Verordnung“ noise regulations for unrestricted airport operations in Germany and other European countries.
