Colibri Aircraft, which specializes in the marketing, resale and purchase of pre-owned private aircraft, has appointed Markus Schmitzer as sales director for Germany.

Markus, who is a fully qualified pilot, has held a number of key positions in aviation sales and consulting. Prior to joining Colibri Aircraft, he worked as an independent aviation consultant and aircraft broker. Markus is fluent in German, English and French.

2017 is set to be a record year for Colibri Aircraft. The number of transactions it has completed is already higher than for the whole of last year, and its business more than doubled between 2015 and 2016. Germany is the biggest private aviation market in Europe, and the company sees this as a huge growth market.

Research from Colibri Aircraft reveals Germany has 431 registered business jets, more than any other European country. For the first half of this year, 22 pre-owned private jets collectively worth around $57,000,000 million USD were bought by companies or individuals based in Germany.
