Air Partner and safety consultancy Baines Simmons to exhibit at Offshore Europe 2017

Air Partner, the global aviation services group, is pleased to announce that it will be exhibiting at Offshore Europe once again this year, joined for the first time by its world leading aviation consultancy Baines Simmons. The conference is recognised as Europe's largest exploration and production event and will take place on 5-8 September in Aberdeen. Air Partner will be exhibiting at stand 1E20 and experts from the team will be available to talk about the group's extensive oil and gas offering, from both a broking and consulting perspective. Those who visit the stand will be in with a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy tablet.

Air Partner has significant oil and gas experience and expertise, having worked in the industry for over 50 years. It has a long track record of providing energy companies with the timely and cost-effective logistical solutions they need, while also giving them the flexibility that is so important in such a changeable sector. Charter services include crew rotations, time critical freight lifts and emergency evacuations, while Baines Simmons offers a full suite of advisory and training solutions to meet the safety and compliance challenges of the industry, including bespoke airworthiness audits and Air Operator Safety Assessment (AOSA) services.

Baines Simmons' expertise in the oil and gas sector was demonstrated once again in the successful development and delivery of an integrated safety management system (ISMS) in partnership with an offshore oil and gas helicopter operator. The client, which supplies aviation services that support the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas from onshore and offshore fields in Europe and the Far East, had tasked Baines Simmons with the enhancement and improvement of its existing safety management system.

The Baines Simmons team developed bespoke training material, which was used over a two-day introductory course that provided a revision of SMS concepts and an understanding of the importance of human factors and error management. In total, 105 people, representing 78% of the client's team, were trained over a 10-day period. Following this successful outcome, the client went on to request safety management continuation training for the entire management team, and also developed a line operations safety audit (LOSA) programme as a result of attending a Baines Simmons Academy training course on this subject.

Bob Simmons, director at Baines Simmons, commented: “We are very excited to be exhibiting at this year's Offshore Europe, and look forward to sharing our industry expertise with those attending. Safety and compliance are among the foremost considerations for oil and gas companies, and we are committed to provided unparalleled consultancy and training services in these areas.”

Clive Chalmers, Air Partner's trading director, said: “From transporting vital cargo to flying out crew to remote oilfields, our comprehensive range of air charter services make us a natural choice for oil and gas clients looking for a “one-stop shop”. Due to the industry's precise operating demands, exacting time considerations and safety protocols, it is of the utmost importance that energy companies work with specialists that truly understand their aviation needs and can be relied upon to deliver time and time again.”
