EASA STC for Aerostar PA-60 series with four-blade MT-Propeller

MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received EASA STC 10062000 for the new scimitar four-blade composite propeller MTV-14-B-C-F/CF(L)188-30g on the Aerostar PA-60-600, -601, -601P, -602P and PA-60-700P equipped with Lycoming IO-540-S1A5-MM, IO-540-AA1A5-MM and (L)TIO-540-U2A engines. The FAA STC is in progress.

MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says, that the installation features the following advantages:

- Shorter take-off distance

- Enhanced climb by approx. 3% to 5% (SL, ISA conditions)

- Cruise performance increased by approx. 3 to 5 kts (MTOW, ISA conditions)

- Approx. 40 lbs less weight than the original propellers

- No airframe resonance with low engine rpm.

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD.

They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on stainless steel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades.

MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 propeller models from two-blade to six-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 5000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.

The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.

Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.

MT-Propeller is the holder of over 210 STCs worldwide and the OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 30% of the US aircraft industry. Over 18,000 propeller systems with more than 68,000 blades are in service.

130 million fleet hours have already been performed on MT-Propellers. The first MT-Propeller was shipped 35 years ago.
