RAS Completions delivers Learjet 45XR livery

RAS Completions recently delivered another innovative livery to Luxembourg Air Ambulance. LAA's Learjet 45XR came to RAS Completions' Biggin Hill airport facilities in a grey finish and after an immense amount of planning and preparing it was able to strip the exterior down to the bare metal, prime all exterior surfaces and, with supervision from director Chris Ransley, complete a very complex paint scheme.

The project took six weeks from when the Learjet rolled into RAS' hangar until it was cleared for takeoff which perfectly met the time constraints without compromising the quality of finish.

RAS began the project by preparing all exterior surfaces for priming. The mechanically sanded areas included; all fight controls, engine intakes, cowlings and pylons, ventral fins, wing underside and belly fairings and all composite panels. Chemical stripped areas included; the fuselage, fin and wing topsides.

This livery was a complex one which was an exciting prospect for RAS as it is always looking to deliver creative solutions and liveries to its clients. With high grade gloss paints the white/blue/red livery came out perfectly and stands out from the solid colour Learjets it is commonly requested to paint.

On the wing tip the RAS team painstakingly reconstructed the map of Europe as for RAS perfection lies in the details. This aircraft is used to save lives and this was taken into consideration, creating a paint scheme that not only shows what the aircraft's role is but shows a sense of urgency in the colours and lines.
