Guernsey's Director of Civil Aviation issues second air operator certificate

Today, the Director of Civil Aviation (DCA) of Guernsey handed over its second public category air operator certificate to Business Aircraft Services Guernsey Limited, trading as BAS Guernsey, a newly established Guernsey-based business jet operator. BAS Guernsey plans to position itself as a market leader in executive jet global operations and is the first to operate the Boeing 787-8 VVIP aircraft, making it available for worldwide charter.

An air operator certificate (AOC) allows the operator to promote its charter services for public carriage of passengers or cargo for remuneration. Whilst the authority for issuing the air carrier certificate rests with its director, the certification and audit work itself is performed by 2-REG, the registry of Guernsey.

'Having met the stringent 2-REG requirements, BAS Guernsey is very proud to be receiving a Guernsey AOC. The addition of an operating base in Guernsey offers a spring board to the European business aviation market, allowing us to provide a much more personal service to EU clients and for global operations.' commented Mr. Denzil White CEO, BAS Guernsey Ltd.

BAS Guernsey is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hongkong Jet, a leading Hong Kong based operator and aircraft management company and has been established to expand its business into the European market. Based in St. Peter Port, BAS Guernsey will provide business jet owners with bespoke aircraft management, designed to meet individual requirements and the opportunity to offset aircraft ownership costs by chartering the managed aircraft to third parties when not being used for private use. BAS Guernsey conforms to ICAO and Guernsey commercial air transport safety standards and provides clients with a professional, efficient and economical service, supported by the expansive Deer Jet group of companies, including Hongkong Jet, UAS and Asia Jet.
