Air Charter Service reveals top European ski destination airports for private jet users

Leading private jet specialist, Air Charter Service, has revealed the top destination airports that its European clients fly to for their skiing holidays.

With the current season drawing to a close, the company, which arranged almost 6,000 private jet charters in total last year, reveals that Chambéry claims top spot as the most popular destination airport for its clients' ski breaks. Andy Christie, private jets director for the ACS Group, says: “Chambéry Airport is a popular hub for ski holidays as it has good access to such a wide range of resorts; Courcheval, Tignes, Val d'Isere and Meribel, to name but a few, and we always have huge demand for flights there every year, with this year being no different.

“A close second, however, is Geneva. The city is a popular destination all year round as a business hub, but bookings really take a sharp rise in the winter months when clients are looking to take to the slopes. With Chamonix and Morzine within such close reach, as well as many others, our clients charter jets to Geneva Airport for skiing breaks almost as much as to Chambéry.”

Zürich claims third spot on the list, with Innsbruck and Salzburg tying in joint fourth position. Christie adds: “Between these five airports a large proportion of the resorts in the Alps are covered, but just missing out on the top five is the heliport at Le Châble, which is also hugely popular with our customers.”
