The 2017 Australian International Airshow will feature the maiden appearance of Dassault Aviation's ultra-long range Falcon 8X in Australia. The 6,450 nm/11,945 km trijet will be showcased alongside the popular 4,000 nm/7,410 km Falcon 2000LXS twinjet at Australia's premier aerospace and defence exposition. The event runs from February 28 to March 5 at Avalon Airport in Geelong, Australia.

The Falcon 8X is the most versatile, comfortable and economical business jet in its class. It features the longest range of any Falcon and a choice of cabin configurations unmatched in its segment. Its state of the art flight controls and advanced flight deck systems are inherited from the very long range Falcon 7X. Cabin noise levels are even lower than those on the 7X, currently the industry benchmark.

The 8X is available with Dassault's revolutionary new FalconEye combined vision system, the first head up display in the industry to combine synthetic and enhanced vision capabilities. In addition to ensuring superior situational awareness in all conditions of operation, day and night, FalconEye will make it possible to reduce minima in low visibility landing conditions, providing a substantial operational benefit.

The Falcon 2000LXS offers a short-field capability comparable to smaller midsize business jet models but with a range and comfort level far better than those aircraft. Equipped with a next-generation EASy II flight deck and the FalconCabin HD+ cabin management system, the 2000LXS offers a combination of airport performance, cabin design and efficiency unique in its class. It is also available with the FalconEye combined vision system.

Australia has been a key market for Dassault for almost half century. The company's first business jet, the Falcon 20, entered commercial service 'down under' in 1967, two years after its service introduction in the United States. The Falcon 20 entered the inventory of the Royal Australian Air Force the same year and served in the RAAF's transport and utility wing for 22 years before being replaced by the Falcon 900. The force flew five Falcon 900s for 13 years.

To ensure optimum service levels for its expanding fleet, Dassault has been rapidly expanding its global support network, including in Australia. The company's spares inventory in Asia Pacific region is over $30 million. The Sydney warehouse, managed by Hawker Pacific, has been in operation since 2005 and stocks the top parts inventory for all Falcon models.

Dassault's relationship with Hawker Pacific dates back over 30 years. In addition to spares management, the Sydney facility is a Falcon authorized service center qualified to perform line maintenance and scheduled A and B level checks on all Falcons. It has approvals from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia, EASA, the FAA and CASA of Papua New Guinea.

Dassault will be at Chalet EW11 and static space TA4/5 during the event.
