Avinco to manage and remarket ex-CHC H225 fleet

Avinco has recently been awarded the largest contract of its kind, in charge of recovering, managing and remarketing a fleet of H225 Super Pumas previously operated by CHC following the operator's filing for Chapter 11.

Further to the lengthy and complex initial phase consisting of centralising 21 machines spread about the world to one European location, last week's news of EASA's lifting of the ban on the H225 means Avinco will now make the helicopters available to the market in 2017.

"Avinco faces an unrivalled and exciting challenge with this contract" comments François Gautier, Avinco's CEO. "Finding new homes for these aircraft will take creativity and good use of our network and knowledge of all helicopter operations worldwide. But we are very happy to see the 225 flying again and we are confident we can take up the challenge and assist our customers to place these helicopters in spite of a more than difficult market."

Out of the 21 units manufactured between 2007 and 2012, three are in SAR configuration and 18 in oil and gas configuration. These aircraft can be operated in a variety of markets, and Avinco can offer light to complex modifications and recertifications for any type of new operations.

Based in Monaco, Dublin, New York, Moscow, and Singapore., Avinco is also a leading provider of large commercial aircraft placement, investment and lease management services. Avinco currently manages a portfolio of fourteen leased aircraft and has successfully placed over 140 commercial jets since its formation.
