NetJets Europe unveils first Citation Latitude aircraft at EBACE

NetJets Europe, a Berkshire Hathaway-affiliated company, today unveiled the company's first Cessna Citation Latitude demonstrator aircraft at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva.

On an inaugural flight from London Farnborough to Geneva, Mark Wilson, president NetJets Europe reaffirmed NetJets' strong performance over the past 12 months and talked through the upcoming aircraft deliveries and positive state of the business in Europe:

“NetJets was announced as the largest customer for the Citation Latitude back in 2012. We now have 25 firm orders planned and an additional 125 optional orders available. These deliveries cement our position as a market leader in fractional ownership business aviation and reinforce our commitment to continue investing for our clients. In addition to the demonstrator aircraft, NetJets Europe will receive three aircraft later this year. The Latitude is proving to be a very popular choice of mid-size aircraft for our customers, and we are selling shares at a fast rate, reflecting our increasing market share in Europe.”

The delivery of the Latitude marks a strong period of activity for NetJets Europe. The company increased its market share in 2015 and has begun 2016 with a strong period of growth; a 4.9% increase in flights for Q1 YoY and an 8.2% increase in passengers flown during the same period. Earlier in May 2016 the company also announced a new partnership with the London Heliport, a key piece of infrastructure for those flying privately in the UK and a prime link between the city and surrounding airports that NetJets Europe serves.

The Latitude has been fully customised from the ground-up allowing owners to experience cabin interiors and technical specifications only found on NetJets' aircraft. The internal design team works alongside Cessna to ensure client feedback along with step-change innovations in business jet design are taken into account when customising the final product.

Mark Wilson added, “The Citation Latitude is a mid-size aircraft but with the amenities of a large cabin jet. All of the materials you see on-board the aircraft are hand-selected by our design team, from the ergonomically designed seating through to the high gloss wood veneers and cooled catering storage. This is complemented by a wide range of state of the art on board technology further setting us apart from the competition. The aircraft is equipped with Inmarsat's SwiftBroadband, a satellite based Wi-Fi system accessible across the globe, while a new cabin pressurisation system delivers a cabin altitude of less than 6000ft (1828m) at cruising altitude. Additionally, our Latitude will have an in-flight entertainment system manufactured by Gogo, which orchestrates, manages and delivers in-flight data, entertainment and cabin management. Owners will be able to access an entire library of content via iPads on board or via their own device by using the specific NetJets Entertainment app.”

NetJets' Citation Latitude has the widest and tallest Citation interior ever with a 1.85 metre high stand-up cabin and true flat floor. The aircraft seats up to eight passengers and has a range of 3000sm or seven hours reaching north Africa and the Middle East from Europe with ease. The aircraft also offers class-leading short-field performance and impressive climb capability allowing it to access challenging general aviation airports offering significant time savings for travellers.
