Dassault Aviation releases iPad maintenance app

Dassault Aviation has developed and released the “Falcon Maintenance Doc" app, a time saving application for iPads designed specifically for maintenance staff.

The new app provides Falcon maintainers with a user friendly interface, including a powerful search tool and the ability to create bookmarks and notes, export documents to e-mail and view several manual revisions at the same time, all while providing untethered mobility and freedom to move around the aircraft or hangar.

"The concept for Falcon Maintenance Doc originated from listening and responding to our customers' requests and adapting proven technology that is being rapidly embraced by the aviation community," said Jacques Chauvet, senior vice president of worldwide customer service. “The FMD app is a new step to have less paper involved in execution of maintenance. It brings more flexibility and efficiency to our operators during maintenance operation and documentation process” added Chauvet.

The Falcon Maintenance Doc app is available through the Apple Store. iTunes is required to upload PDF collections (available on a Dassault-provided USB flash drive) to the iPad. It is free of charge for all Falcon customers with a valid FIELD subscription (Falcon Interactive Electronic Library Documentation).

The app is part of an effort aimed to incorporate new web technologies to better serve Falcon customers. In 2015, Dassault Aviation introduced Falcon Flight Doc, an iPad App dedicated to flight documentation for Falcon pilots.
