Nick MacAndrew has been appointed to the board of Biggin Hill Airport Ltd as a non-executive director.

Born in Scotland in February 1947 and raised in Yorkshire, he joined Deloitte in 1966 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1971. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA).

His professional career commenced in 1971 with Schroders plc, the asset management and investment banking firm, with whom he served in London, Hong Kong and the USA for more than 30 years. In 1991, he was appointed their chief financial officer. Over the last fourteen years he has held a number of high profile non-executive directorships with Wates Group, the family owned construction company; Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc, international insurance brokers; Fuller Smith & Turner, the family-controlled brewery and owners of hotels and pubs and F & C Asset Management plc where he was chairman. He has also served as chairman of English Touring Opera and the Save The Children Fund.

Andrew Walters, chairman of the board, has welcomed Nick MacAndrew to the new appointment.

Nick MacAndrew is married and lives in Hampshire. He has three adult children.
