Tamarack Aerospace Group announces installation of world's first active winglets

Following EASA certification ath the start of the year, the first set of Tamarack active winglets have been installed.

The installation concluded on April 29th, 2016 on a Cessna Citation CitationJet aircraft operated by private hire company JetPingu. The installation, which took place at Textron Aviation’s service center in Zurich, took approximately 400 man hours to install. Tamarack’s active winglets do not require wing reinforcement, so the installation time is substantially less than a similar ‘passive winglet’ installation would take.

Hugo Dobler, JetPingu pilot commented "We selected the Tamarack active winglets because of the significant fuel savings and the increase in value for the aircraft. In addition, the extended range will allow us to offer our guests many more destinations beyond our current three‐hour limit. I am really looking forward to my first flight with winglets".
