The Baltic Air Charter Association (BACA) has appointed four new executives to the governing council of the association. The appointments were made following elections at the March council meeting, the newly elected members of the council will take their position as from the April 14th meeting of the council.

Chris Mace of SaxonAir, Tim Procter of Air Charter Ltd, Nick Weston of Weston Aviation and Peter Bradfield, the Media Doctor are the newly elected members of the council. The purpose of appointing four new council members is to strengthen the governing body of the association and reflect the makeup of the Association's membership.

Chris Mace is one of the founders and shareholders of SaxonAir and has a role within the wider SaxonAir group of companies as its group commercial director. The role includes strategic business development, responsibility for all the group's sales activities as well as rotary AOC accountability. The SaxonAir group includes a wide range of aviation activities from aeroplane and helicopter charter, ground handling and aircraft sales to aviation leasing and specialist offshore air logistics for the energy industry. 

On joining the BACA council Chris comments; 'I feel very honoured to be part of the BACA council, having been a member for many years and I am looking forward to playing a role in further enhancing the association for our members. BACA has always provided great networking opportunities and specific industry support and related services, all underpinned by a great history with a stand for integrity and professionalism within the industry.'

Tim Procter brings decades of experience in the large aircraft charter sector. As the managing director of Air Charter Ltd he has seen the company grow to play a key role in the charter market with an annual turnover in excess of GBP15 million. Tim also acts as a consultant to carriers in developing new charter opportunities by exploiting their spare availability; get them in the air is his motto!

Speaking about his appointment to the BACA council Tim says "I really want to promote large aircraft charter availability amongst BACA's air charter brokers by reintroducing the big commercial carriers as members. These airliners are a massive capital commitment so I want to encourage their operators to meet the BACA membership again to exploit any potential availability they might have."

Nick Weston is the CEO of Weston Aviation. He started his aviation career in the Air Movements branch of the Royal Air Force in 1986 and commenced a career in civil aviation in 1992. Wanting to create a new aviation company to provide aircraft charter services, Nick launched Weston Air International in 1995. In 2001 Nick created the wider company Weston Aviation that grew to incorporate five new business aviation centres providing FBO and ground handling services in the UK and Ireland at Newquay Cornwall Airport, Durham Tees Valley Airport, Humberside Airport, Doncaster Sheffield Airport and Cork Airport. 

Nick has been a member of BACA for many years and said "As a company Weston Aviation has received the many benefits of membership of BACA for some 20 years, and I am honoured to be asked by the council to join them, taking BACA its next stage of development and growth. Having worked in most areas of the industry including aircraft charter and FBO ground handling, I feel that I can represent the majority of members interests on the council and am looking forward to this exciting new challenge."

Peter Bradfield, the Media Doctor brings a wealth of aviation media and events experience to the council. As the principal of the Aerospace Media Dinner he has an extensive network of connections in the aviation press and his knowledge of exhibitions and events goes back more than 20 years.

On hearing the news that he was joining the council, Peter said "I know that BACA is looking at ways of building on the success of the Spring lunch, the awards lunch and the training days, with the possible introduction of some innovative ideas to deliver even greater value to the membership. I hope that my experience will prove to be of value as the council drives these initiatives forward."

Commenting on the four new members of the council, chairman Richard Mumford advised "I am delighted to welcome these four executives to the BACA council. These are exciting times for BACA and I know that the addition of the four new council members will be a great step towards creating a dynamic, professional association for our members."
