ExecuJet acquires largest FBO at Munich International Airport

ExecuJet Aviation Group will offer handling and ground support services from its fixed-base operation (FBO) at Munich International Airport following acquisition of the former European Business Aviation Services' (EBAS International GmbH) facility.

The Munich FBO is ExecuJet's second handling facility in Germany after Berlin Schoenefeld, and will begin operation on 1 February 2016. This addition takes the ExecuJet FBO network to 20 locations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australasia.

Gerrit Basson, ceo ExecuJet Aviation Group, says: “Germany is one of Europe's largest business aviation markets and we are very excited to begin operations in our second FBO in the country. Strategically, Munich is the perfect location because the international airport is one of the largest in Europe and is also the most punctual large airport within the EMEA region. The General Aviation Terminal (GAT) is the most popular private jet airport in Germany. We look forward to offering our business customers ground handling and concierge services at the new facility as well as continuing to serve former customers of EBAS. We are very happy to add this FBO as a next step to actively growing our FBO network further.”

Monika Petereit, general manager, EBAS, says: “We are delighted ExecuJet's vision for the business matches our own. The staff will remain in their respective positions, delivering the same excellent level of personalised service to clients who they have established excellent working relationships with over several years. Assisting in the handover phase, we have already seen how ExecuJet, with its global experience and network, will enhance the future of the business on an international level.”

ExecuJet is part of the Luxaviation Group, the second largest corporate aircraft operator in the world. Patrick Hansen, ceo, Luxaviation Group, says: “We are very pleased that ExecuJet has further strengthened its presence in a key region within Europe. We look forward to welcoming our customers to the new FBO.”

ExecuJet's Munich FBO facility is the biggest handling area at Munich's GAT, covering an area of 200 m². The ground floor facility is easy to find from the entrance and offers customers a 'meet and greet' area, a passenger lounge, vip service to and from the aircraft as well as convenient limousine and car rental services. There is also a crew lounge and administration office for staff.
